Anne of Avonlea

Anne of Avonlea (1909) Anne Shirley is now a teacher in Avonlea on Prince Edward Island, and the novel deals with her "scrapes" and adventures as well as those of her pupils. Much attention is also paid to the twin boy and girl Marilla agrees to adopt when a distant cousin dies. The relationship between Anne and Gilbert is still only friendship on Anne's part.
