The Story Girl
The Story Girl (1911) This is the last
of Montgomery's novels to be written while she lived on Prince Edward Island.
Told by a boy who lives for a time with relatives on the King farm on Prince
Edward Island, it focuses on Sara Stanley, who tells the many stories that
punctuate and advance the narrative. The novel inspired the popular television
series, The Road to Avonlea. The novel was dedicated to Montgomery's
beloved cousin Frederica Campbell: "In remembrance of old days, old
dreams, and old laughter." |
