Page two of the first red Ontario scrapbook features photographs clipped from a magazine of His Excellency, Earl Grey, Governor General of Canada, and Her Excellency, Countess Grey. Montgomery had the honour of meeting Canada's ninth Governor General in 1910 at the old homestead of Dr. Andrew Macphail, Orwell Corner, PEI. This page also contains a newspaper clipping with the standings from Macdonald College in Montreal. Montgomery's cousin and dear friend Frederica Campbell attended the college from 1910-12, with Montgomery's financial support. Notice that Frede has second-place standing among the first-year homemakers.
