Narrative The Campbells first settled on this homestead in 1776, and this house, which is still owned by the Campbells, was built by Montgomery's Uncle John Campbell in 1872. Montgomery always welcomed a visit to the Campbell home where she enjoyed the companionship of her jolly cousins.
