Narrative This horseshoe is actually a buckle from the shoe of Montgomery’s Cavendish school teacher Selena Robinson. The mounting card is dated July 18, 1893, just one month before Montgomery went to Charlottetown to study for a teacher’s license at Prince of Wales College. The quotation on the card is by one of Montgomery’s favourite poets, Robert Burns.
