Narrative Mrs. Sam Sharpe was married to the Member of Parliament who became Lt.-Col. Sam Sharpe, commander of the 116th Ontario County Battalion. Montgomery voted for Sharpe in 1917 (her first vote), followed his career and that of his Battalion, attended his funeral in 1918, and visited with his widow. Note that Mrs. Sharpe has indicated on the card, as was the custom, which evenings she would be "at home" for visiting.
