Narrative Newlyweds Ewan and L. M. Macdonald visited Fingal's Cave on the tiny uninhabited island of Staffa during the first week of their honeymoon in Scotland en route to the Hebridean island of Iona. The cave is a geographical wonder, lined with black basaltic pillars 227 feet long and 117 feet high. Despite the wet and slippery conditions, Montgomery nimbly made her way to the cave owing to her experience walking on the Cavendish rock shore.
